Reshi Spring is located 25 kilometres away from Gyalshing, along the bank of River Rangeet.

What is the distance of Namchi from Gangtok and Siliguri?

Namchi is located 78 kilometres (48 miles) from Gangtok and 100 kilometres (62 miles) from Siliguri, the nearest railhead and airport. So, if you happen to be in either Gangtok or Siliguri, make sure to include Namchi in your itinerary.

It is situated off the road between Melli and Jorethang and is well-connected to other towns in Sikkim and West Bengal. 

Visitors can easily travel to Namchi from Gangtok, Pelling, Jorethang, Kalimpong, and Siliguri by taking jeeps or buses that regularly ply the route.

What is the Best Time to Visit Namchi?

Summer season (March to May): This is the perfect time to journey across this captivating location, as the weather remains pleasant. During this season, the temperature hovers between 15°c – 25°c. The temperature may shoot up to 28° C during this time, but the weather is pretty warm yet bearable.

Autumn (Late September to November): This is again a good time for a fulfilling journey to Namchi. The weather is mild, and the skies are clear. 

The temperature falls within the range of 10°C to 20°C, creating an ideal climate for engaging in outdoor pursuits such as trekking and hiking.

Winter (December to February): Winter is the coldest season in Namchi, with temperatures dropping to as low as 2°C. However, it is still a good time to visit for those who enjoy the cold weather and snowfall. The town looks stunning, covered in snow, and there are many winter activities like skiing and snowboarding to enjoy.

Festivals: During one of these festivals, people know Namchi for its vibrancy, making it the best time to visit.

The most popular festival is the Namchi Mahotsav, which takes place in October and November and celebrates the culture and traditions of the town. The Losar Festival, which marks the Tibetan New Year, is also a great time to visit Namchi.
