This natural wonder is exceptionally breathtaking during the monsoon season, when it’s most powerful. However, reaching the waterfall can be a bit of a challenge. Until October, the jeep road is flooded by two streams, so visitors must navigate a narrow dirt track instead.

If you’re up for an exhilarating adventure, you can join local bikers for a thrilling monsoon bike rally. They offer rides from the Kulem railway station in Goa. 

The 14km ride is like an assault course, with rough terrain including ballast, puddles, ditches, and raging streams. You’ll need to trek about 100m over slippery rocks and stream crossings from the parking lot to reach the waterfall’s base. You’ll witness a picturesque scene with a railway bridge cutting through the misty falls in a beautiful arc.

Alternatively, you can opt for a hike along the railway track. It’s a 12km climb from Kulem or a 14km descent from Castle Rock, passing through various tunnels from the Karnataka side.

How to reach: Fly to Goa and then drive to Kulem, (about 65km from Panaji and 6km from Mollem), accessible via NH-748.
